Bitter Gourd or Bitter Melon is apart of the Cucurbitaceae plant family that contains over 900 species of vegetable including Cucumbers and Squash. Bitter Gourd thrives in humid climates and is commonly found throughout Asia, Africa and South America. The vegetable can be very beneficial to your iet due to its rich nutrient content. Both vitamins A and C can be found in Bitter Gourd which benefit immune function, iron absorption and cell development.
